Meet Hannah Edwards from Aurora, Colorado! Hannah came out to GCU in high school for the girls’ soccer camp on the GCU campus. She noticed the coaches watching her as she played and was offered a spot as a preferred walk on her freshman year. “I have fought to be someone on the team, and I’ve played nearly every game since.” Now a senior, Hannah has proudly earned the title of team captain. Hannah shares it’s unbelievable that this is her final year playing soccer. “Soccer will always mean a lot to me,” she comments. Hannah has used her combined passion for both the medical and the engineering field to major in Biomedical Engineering. “This major has been the perfect middle for me. I have always loved a challenge.” Because of her strong involvement in engineering, Hannah landed herself a job as a Junior Program Development Specialist. “I reach out to students and anyone interested in engineering.” Hannah gives tours of GCU’s Engineering building and is basically a walking textbook of facts about the programs. The Christian aspect of GCU was another major reason Hannah chose to attend the school. “As a freshman, I was so excited to take Christian Worldview.” She will always remember her first time going to the Gathering and witnessing everyone worship. Hannah knows the challenges of juggling academics, her social life, and being a student athlete. During her experience these past four years she shares “as hard as the day may seem, and it may seem too much to handle, it never is. You can do it. Give it your all!” Hannah is thrilled to spend her final year with her two brothers on campus. One is a sophomore, and the other is the manager at the Antelope Reception Center. “They’re my best friends.” If you see Hannah Edwards around campus or at a soccer practice, be sure to say, “You got this!” and give her a Lopes up!
